Out With The Old and In With The New...

Technology that is. The "standard industry technology" that has been used to lower or "sump" a roof drain has been to build wood sump boxes.

If you have ever had to build wooden boxes while on the jobsite, you know it is a labor and material intensive task. It becomes more involved when you need to build a large double wood box capable of accepting up to 15″, 16″ or larger diameter combination roof drains and fitting it all between the roof joists. More times than not, it involves reframing the roof.  When you add the labor and materials involved, it can become rather expensive.

The better solution is to use a modern, sleek laser prefabricated sheet metal sump that is ready to install.  No framing, no roof modifications. For construction professionals, time is money and these pans can be installed 10x faster than wood framing. They will increase production and reduce labor costs. Check out the blog for some basic comparisons.

Here are some of the many benefits of using a roof drain sump pan...

USED BY PROPERTY OWNERS / MANAGERS / CONTRACTORS / BUILDERS / DEVELOPERS / MATERIAL SPECIFIERS / FACILITY MANAGERS and DIY Market

    1. Hi Peter, we don’t make them specifically for a new pour however I have installed many of these on my own concrete roof projects as a licensed plumbing contractor. For ne pours, we built a form for the drain to sit down into the roof. Later we dropped in the drain and pan on the concrete surface and it worked fine. Let me know what you think as we can work with other methods as well. Thank you, Jim
